CAKE ARCHITECTURE:
MARYANNE
A SOCIAL SYNTHESISER
In 2026, CAKE expand their work with RALLY, taking over the design of the Southwark Park bandstand with MARYANNE: A SOCIAL SYNTHESISER.
CAKE are no strangers to RALLY, having been responsible for the original design and evolution of our beloved Agnes stage, as well as Visionaire - our tried-and-tested dancefloor and a staple of the festival since year one, conceived as a kind of “dance music bandstand” [Dezeen] itself.
Named in tribute to pioneering composer Maryanne Amacher, Maryanne reimagines Southwark Park’s Victorian bandstand as a place for rest, encounter and collective occupation. The intervention inhabits and spills out from the historic structure, extending its traditional role as a stage and civic gathering point into the surrounding landscape.
Oversized illuminated forms sit within and around the bandstand, alongside monumental foam-clad platforms for sitting, reclining and gathering. Their soft surfaces and diffuse light form a contemporary counterpoint to the bandstand’s ornate ironwork and formal symmetry. Drawing on the physical language of early electronic music - its analogue machines, cables and raw materiality - the installation becomes a social synthesiser: bringing people together and grounding the intensity of the festival through shared physical experience.
CAKE is a belief in contemporary concept-driven design. They craft space for visionary clients, complete interiors and architecture for culture, commerce and home, offering a progressive, multidisciplinary approach to projects, informed by the knowledge and expertise of close collaborators in parallel creative fields.
CORBIN SHAW
Corbin Shaw is a Sheffield-born artist, and Central Saint Martins Graduate, exploring themes of personal & national identity, modern day folklore and masculinity through his multimedia practice. In 2026, Corbin returns to the festival to expand on his previous work with RALLY, with a tongue-in-cheek approach to the traditional street art form of paste-up art.
SECRET LIAISON
MW-A & Unit 38
‘Secret Liaison’ is a collaboration between MW-A and Unit 38 developed in response to the RALLY x A-COLD-WALL* open call in collaboration with Francesca Gavin, A Place To Gather.
Secret Liaison is a temporary landmark for Southwark Park, a place to rest in the shade by day and find community by night. Fabric is pulled taut in one plane and allowed to hang loose in the other, creating a shifting surface that billows, shimmers and catches light as people move through it. At night, light transforms the structure into a subtle point of orientation in the park.
The installation is open and adaptable, offering space to pause, meet, converse and gather. Its temporary construction reflects the nature of gathering itself: fluid, collective and shaped by those who occupy it. The fabric is a custom-made polarising textile, allowing light to pass through in only one direction. By night, lights placed inside will be stretched and filtered by the polarising fabric, each angle of approach creating a different experience.
The lights are bespoke 3 metre long fittings fabricated and programmed by Unit 38 to function off-grid.Timber seating is created with repurposed cross-laminated timber from Tipping Point East. Following #RALLY2026 it will go on to find a new home and purpose. Materials are held together for the weekend before being returned to the circular economy, leaving behind a temporary intervention rather than a permanent object.

MW-A is a London-based studio led by Maximillian Worrell, exploring the relationship between architectural form and civic life.
Unit 38 is an architectural cooperative working on community-led projects that foreground collective ownership, autonomy and joy. Together, Secret Liaison brings these approaches into a shared, temporary architecture for gathering.

OOZE STUDIO
Ooze Studio is the personal project of Becca Kettley. Born out of the DIY and festival circuit, Ooze Studio’s distinctive Mohair Lighting designs can be found illuminating dancefloors, intimate gatherings and alternative events across London and beyond. Her practice brings together soft, tactile materials and atmospheric light to create spaces that feel playful, warm and inviting.
For RALLY 2026, Ooze Studio will create a site-responsive pause space designed as a gentle counterpoint to the energy of the festival. Using soft lighting and sculptural textile structures, the installation will offer festival-goers somewhere to slow down, take a breath and reconnect - with themselves and with others.
The space will be intentionally informal and open, encouraging people to sit, linger, converse or simply spend a few quiet moments away from the intensity of the festival environment. Through light, texture and material, Ooze Studio will create an atmosphere that supports grounding, mutual care and connection, making space for the quieter social moments that are just as important to a festival experience.
Rather than being a space to simply pass through, the installation invites people to pause and inhabit it, creating a warm, tactile environment for rest, reflection and conversation.

RALLY COMMUNITY GALLERY
In 2026, RALLY opens the floor to visual art from independent artists, emerging creatives and collectives. The Community Gallery brings together a diverse selection of work across disciplines, creating a space to discover new voices, perspectives and practices from London and beyond.

Rather than a traditional exhibition, the gallery is an evolving showcase of the artists and creative communities shaping culture today, and making their own reality. From established names to artists working independently and at the edges of their respective disciplines, the programme celebrates a broad range of approaches, ideas and visual languages.
Free Arts Tours
Our free Arts Tours return led by arts curator Haja Fanta. Join us for an informal guided walk through the festival site, exploring the installations and artworks positioned throughout Southwark Park.
Beginning at the park’s historic bandstand, each tour offers the chance to discover the artists and ideas behind the work.
