Originally from Tokyo, Japan, Takuya Nakamura moved to the United States in 1990to studyunder the legendary jazz theorist and composer George Russell at the New EnglandConservatory of Music. Under Russell’s tutelage, Nakamura honed his craft and developed a profound understanding of jazz theory and composition, which would become fundamental to his innovative approach to music.

In 94' Nakamura moved to New York City, where he quickly became a staple in the vibrantJungle scene. His versatility as a musician allowed him to collaborate with an impressive array ofartists across different genres. He has worked with legendary figures such as Quincy Jones, DJLogic, and Arto Lindsay, bringing his distinctive sound to numerous recordings and liveperformances.

Nakamura continues to push the boundaries of music, constantly exploringnew soundsand techniques. His dedication to his craft and his ability to transcend genres make him a truepioneer in contemporary music.
