Speakers Corner Quartet celebrate Arthur Russell

Speakers Corner Quartet — the acclaimed South London collective made up of flautist Biscuit, drummer Kwake Bass, violinist Raven Bush, and bassist Peter Bennie — bring their genre-defying sound to Rally Festival 2025 with a special tribute to visionary cellist and composer Arthur Russell. Known for their improvisational style and emotional depth, the band continues to evolve after nearly two decades of collaboration, shaping London’s music scene and mentoring rising talent.

This one-off performance celebrates Russell’s boundary-pushing legacy, whose genre-blurring work still influences generations of artists. Following their sold-out 2021 Barbican return and critically acclaimed debut album Further Out Than The Edge, Speakers Corner Quartet will reinterpret Russell’s music with the same openness and spirit that define their own.

They craft an intimate, orchestral experience that embodies the rallying cry of both Russell’s vision and the Quartet’s journey: fearless, collaborative, and endlessly expressive.
