BLOOD ORANGE

Dev Hynes, the musician, composer, producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist behind Blood Orange, has spent two decades moving between worlds while quietly influencing all of them. His work encompasses indie rock, R&B, funk, soul, jazz, classical composition, film scoring and pop, while his influence extends far beyond his own discography. As a producer and collaborator, he has worked across generations and genres; as a composer, he has written for film, dance and orchestral settings; and as Blood Orange, he has created a body of work defined by its openness to different musical languages.

That breadth makes Hynes an especially fitting co-curator for RALLY. Rather than simply presenting a selection of artists, Channel reflects the kinds of connections that have characterised his own career: experimental and accessible, underground and pop-facing, deeply rooted in musical history while always looking forward. The stage brings together artists connected by curiosity rather than genre, with long-running relationships, new discoveries and unexpected collaborations sitting alongside one another.

Hynes’ connection with RALLY has already taken shape through conversations with artists on the programme. He closes Channel with a much-anticipated set, bringing the day’s different threads together to converge.
